One in Ten

As the 12th century Tamil poet and saint Avvaiyar writes in her book “The Word that Endures,”

When doing good to a man, do not ask

If he’ll do good.

Tall-standing coconut palms,

Tireless and growing, take water at their roots

And return it, sweet, from above.

(from Give, Eat, and Live: Poems of Avvaiyar)

I am sometimes asked to perform The Poet’s Magic for fundraising events and organizations with strictly limited budgets. In the spirit of Avvaiyar’s words, I do one out of every ten performances as a gift to worthy local causes. Please contact me for more information.
